Albert Kamanou
Albert Kamanou is a highly experienced telecommunications executive, with wide experience in dealing with telecom regulators agencies and governments in Sub Sahara Africa. He has exceptionally strong business acumen – including the ability to execute a wide range of sales and marketing strategies designed to establish market presence and increase revenues and profitability. Past successes include leading the successful implementation of a world-class MPLS & WIMAX network, and Albert has a wealth of experience in identifying and developing new telecom business opportunities in emerging markets in Africa – for example, relating to VoIP, Satellite networks, Internet service & solutions providers, and Digital video solutions. He is a proven performer who moves easily from vision and strategy to implementation and follow-through. Prior to Avilyos, Albert founded GlobalNet in 2000, which grew to become a leading ISP in Cameroon, then led the creation and the implementation of the new Solution provider division of MTN Cameroon for two years – following MTN’s acquisition of GlobalNet in 2006.
Albert holds a master degree in Engineering from George Washington University, Washington DC and worked as a Microsoft Systems Engineer/trainer in the United States and as a telecommunication senior consultant for the implementation of Voice over IP systems by satellite in several countries in Africa before returning to Cameroon in 2000.
